Kent Coach Jimmy Adams is hoping to bring in a specialist Twenty 20 signing for this year’s competition.

The club have already got overseas signing Brendan Nash on their books for the entire season, but Adams told KSN how he is keen to bring in another overseas, depending on whether the figures stack up:

“It’s not just a cricket issue, but it’s a financial issue, but we are looking at who is available and what our plans are in terms of how we want to play along with what spots we will be wanting to fill.”

Adams also confirmed that despite not having played an awful lot of Twenty 20 cricket in his career, Nash would be one of those competing for a place in the T20 side:

“As far as any particular player in the squad, as far as I’m concerned, everyone is available for selection including Brendan Nash and the decision as to who plays will be made closer to the time.”

“Everybody here including the second team players are available for T20 selection and we will have to see how everyone goes in the coming weeks to see who wants to be in that side.”

Kent Spitfires Twenty 20 campaign begins with a game against Sussex Sharks at Tunbridge Wells on 12th June and finishes against Middlesex at Uxbridge on 8th July.
